Freedom 3D Tutorials

Hey guys, how to wear CC3/CC4 clothes on Vroid Cartoon Avatar by using Maya, bind the clothes to the vroid skeleton with proper skin weight, then export it to iClone 8, with full facial + viseme, make it become an iClone iAvatar, and ready to animate? This is my step-by-step tutorial on how to do this! ENJOY! And have fun! Happy 3D Modeling, 3D Animation & 3D Game Dev, ENJOY!

OPERATING SYSTEM:
Microsoft Windows 10

SOFTWARE INVOVLED:
Vroid Studio
Blender
Autodesk Maya
Character Creator 3
Character Creator 4
iClone 7
iClone 8
3DXchange 7

TUTORIAL SUMMARY:

STEP 01
in Vroid Studio,
Design an avatar in Vroid Studio
export the Vroid Avatar as FBX file with file name [vroid01.fbx]

STEP 02
in Character Creator 4,
export a shirt and a pant from Character Creator 4 as OBJ file with file name [shirt.fbx] and [skirt.fbx]
detail steps:
convert ccCloth to accessory in CC4,
send ccAvatar to iClone 8,
detach the clothes accessory, to be iprop
save it as iProp
export the iProp from iClone 8 as [shirt.fbx] and [skirt.fbx]

STEP 03
in Autodesk Maya,
import [vroid01.fbx] into Maya

STEP 04
import [shirt.fbx] into Maya
scuplt it to fit the body shape
click and select the shirt, hold CTRL key, and click the vroid01 skeleton
menu: Skin, Bind Skin
click the skin, hold CTRL, click the shirt,
menu: Skin, Copy Skin Weight

STEP 05
import [skirt.fbx] into Maya
scuplt it to fit the body shape
click and select the skirt, hold CTRL key, and click the vroid01 skeleton
menu: Skin, Bind Skin
click the skin, hold CTRL, click the skirt,
menu: Skin, Copy Skin Weight

STEP 06
export FBX from MAYA
import into 3DXchange 7
convert it to non-standard and set the facial expression
export as iAvatar (can use in iClone 7, iClone 8 and CC4)
DONE!
