This was so useful thanks – I had made a model of a mansion with 350 separate objects and this made it super easy to import and rebuild in just a few mins! 🙂

how do make were you can go inside your house you made in blender

  11. Jasperino Avatar

Unreal does the entire blueprint layout automatically by default if you go 'File>Import Into Level' instead of just dragging it into the content browser. That'll save you so many clicks!

Hello. I have a question. As in Blendar, we can save in Blend file format with save. Any chance of transferring that yellow symbol format to an unreal engine?

  16. Andrew Alalibo Avatar

Thanks so much for your help. But I still have a problem.
I am trying to import a building just like you did in your tutorial but mine seems to have an invisibe wall around all the objects so I can't even go anywhere near the building.
What can I do to resolve this. Thanks

you could have cut the loading process, damn it. thanks

The blueprint method is the best overall method, however, one adjustment to the process is to import only the unique meshes and materials then assemble the building inside the blueprint from those components. For example, you have imported the same window and column many times, each with a repeat of the same materials. A huge waste of memory. Better to have them only once, then duplicate them in unreal so they are instanced. Also, having a master material and making material instances will save you a lot of time on loading the scene because you will have less shaders to compile each time. 😉

As far as materials go, do they always import with no issues? I was wondering if I should recreate all my materials inside of Unreal or not. I don't know if the complex shaders in blender can transition as easily as basic diffuse and roughness maps. Guess I'll experiment, see what happens.

Greetings! Thank you for sharing. This is very helpful. Thanks!

  26. Erf A Avatar

Thank you for the video… I try importing the meshes from Blender to UE but the issue is that the materials all disappear. I see that your model is imported with all the materials embedded on the static meshes. How is that possible? What am I doing wrong?

  31. Arik Anidjar Avatar

Thanks. The blueprint method is what I was looking for.

  32. Daso1n Avatar

Wouldn’t this cause a lot of Instance calls for each static mesh and slow down the performance.

  33. G Colde Avatar

DUDE!!! I searched for that kind of information for a few hours, you saved my day! Fun fact i have to export Japanese style temple as well :d
